PRENATAL YOGA FOR YOUR CHANGING BODY

Picture
During pregnancy, we attended over 20 different schools and classes for prenatal yoga and have determined that most are very different from each other.

After becoming certified through the Yoga Alliance (USA) in Hatha and Ashtanga yoga, we felt the need to further our certification in Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga (also through YA) to learn the core ideologies of those practices focused on the prenatal and postnatal body.

We've developed different classes to focus on the changing needs of the pregnant body.  Holding small classes to ensure personal attention, we may focus one day on pelvic floor strengthening and reducing inflammation of our joints to another day of alleviating shoulder and back pressure while developing our strength in preparation for delivery.

Every pregnant woman's body develops with uniqueness and varied day-to-day challenges, and because of this we also tailor individualized programs based on specific needs.  We recommend this personal attention for optimum benefits.

We personally benefited from our prenatal practice at the Center for Yoga in Los Angeles. This personal inspiration has motivated us to become certified in doula services - antenatal and postnatal. We felt the most well-being benefits in our prenatal yoga courses with our instructor, who was also a trained doula.

We hope to see you at our upcoming prenatal yoga courses.  Please contact us for a consultation on individually tailored yoga programs at info@undercovermother.com .

STRENGTHENING YOUR POST NATAL BODY AND GETTING YOUR BODY BACK

Picture
We recommend you consult your doctors prior to enrolling in any post-natal exercise program. Usually, we get the OK from clients after six weeks for vaginal deliveries and eight weeks or more for caesarian deliveries. It is important to respect our bodies and our doctor's advice in this sensitive postnatal period.

It takes a lot to reengage our bodies after carrying a baby for nine months, and then delivering the baby! Our postnatal yoga programs are developed to help strengthen the core back and abdominal muscles, as well as to help train new mommies in strengthening those muscles overtaxed by breastfeeding and holding new babies.  We also help you to relearn how to strengthen your spine and neck. The aches and pains associated with the postnatal period can be alleviated through a consistent yoga and pranayama (breathing) regimen that we recommend in a light vinyasa-flow pattern, and we have developed our postnatal yoga program to best mirror the areas you would like to focus on. We also recommend our individually tailored  programs for optimum postnatal health. Contact us for more information at info@undercovermother.com .
